2020 RAM 1500 vs 2020 Ford F-150
Are you looking for a truck that is built to get the job done? Two of the best on the market are the RAM 1500 and the Ford F-150. Both of these trucks have unique engines and massive towing ability, while also having gorgeous looking and technologically advanced interiors. Either one of these pickups would make terrific editions to your driveway, but which one has the advantage? For the answer, continue reading down below as we compare both of the pickups and declare a winner.
2020 RAM 1500 Power & Handling
On most trims, RAM gives you the choice of a quad cab with a long bed or a crew cab that offers a shorter bed. Under the hood, there are three powerful options, with the standard being a 3.6-liter V6 engine that pumps out 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. The engine comes with an eTorque system that improves fuel economy. Next up is the 5.7-liter V8 that has 395 horses and 410 lb-ft of torque. You get the V8 standard on the Laramie, LongHorn, and Limited, and it’s available with or without the eTorque. All-new this year is a diesel engine that is a diesel-powered turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that has 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque, which is available on every trim level. All engines pair with a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission.
2020 Ford F-150 Power & Handling
Like the RAM, the Ford F-150 comes with a few engine options. The first is a 2.7-liter turbo V6 that makes 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Optional is a non-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 that makes 395 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque or the overachieving 3.5-liter V6 turbo with 375 horse and a more improved torque level. Finally, the Ford F-150 has a diesel option, and it’s a turbocharged diesel V6 that does, unfortunately, drop the horsepower to 250. Unlike the RAM, the Ford F-150 does not have an eTorque system, which is a significant drawback.
