Coming standard on all RAM 3500s is a gasoline-powered 6.4-liter V8 engine that pumps out 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. The engine comes with a cylinder deactivation feature that saves you a bit of fuel during light use. Paring with the engine is an eight-speed automatic transmission as well as rear-wheel-drive, though all-wheel-drive is available if you choose. All-wheel-drive is standard for the Power Wagon. Optional is a 6.7-liter six-cylinder diesel engine that makes 400 horsepower and an astounding 1,000 lb-ft of torque. Towing and payload capacity have never been a problem for RAM, and the 3500 is no different as it can haul up to 35,100 pounds with a payload capacity of 7,680 pounds.

Each trim level of the RAM 3500 comes with a different set of features, but all have active noise cancellation and acoustic glass that keeps the cabin quiet. Starting off the RAM 3500s lineup is the Tradesman, which comes with an eight-foot bed, a manually adjustable 40/20/40-split-bench seat, and black vinyl flooring. You also get an entertainment system with AM/FM radio, four-speakers, and a Uconnect system with a five-inch touchscreen and Bluetooth. Higher-level trims add a self-leveling rear air suspension that provides a smoother ride as well as a 360-degree camera system, cargo-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, and forward-collision mitigation. Luxury level trims include full-leather interiors, a 17-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system, and real metal and open-pore wood accents. When you get the Power Wagon trim, you also get a Uconnect system with either an eight-inch or twelve-inch Uconnect touchscreen.

RAM is extremely concerned about your safety, which is why the 3500 is equipped with all the latest safety and security equipment. Available is an Adaptive Cruise Control System with Stop and Go, which maintains a select distance that is selected by the driver from vehicles in the lanes ahead. If slower traffic is detected, the RAM 3500 will automatically adjust the speed down to zero, even with a trailer attached. Also available is a Blind-Spot Monitoring System with Rear Cross Path Detection that uses dual wide radar sensors in the taillamps to scan the blind spot zones behind the RAM to help with maneuvering. The system automatically senses and accounts for the width of the truck and the length of the trailer.
