2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee vs Chevy Blazer

If you’re in the market for a new SUV, chances are you’re becoming increasingly overwhelmed by the number of options there are. At Martin Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we want to make purchasing your next SUV as easy as possible. This is why we’ve taken two of the top vehicles in the midsize SUV class, the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Chevy Blazer, and put them side by side for you to get in-depth information about their power, features, and more! Both vehicles have a lot to offer, so let’s jump right in!

2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Power & Handling

The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee lineup starts strong with a 3.6L V6 that kicks out 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough power for most drivers. But for drivers who seek more, an available 5.7L V8 pushes out 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. The Grand Cherokee SRT comes with a powerful 6.2L V8 engine rated for 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, at the top of the engine lineup is the Trackhawk’s supercharged 6.2L V8 engine with an enthralling 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. All four engines come paired with a sturdy 8-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Four-wheel drive is standard on the off-road-ready Trailhawk and the performance-based SRT and Trackhawk.

2021 Chevrolet Blazer Power & Handling

Three engines are available to the 2021 Chevy Blazer. The lineup begins with a 2.5L I4 that has just 193 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque to offer. The more appealing 2.0L turbocharged I4 offers a healthy 277 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Exclusive to the RS and Premier trims is a 3.6L V6 engine that kicks out 308 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. While that compares well with most of the class, it’s not enough to keep up with the mighty Grand Cherokee! The Blazer employs a 9-speed automatic and a front-wheel drivetrain. All-wheel drive is only available to the Blazer’s that house a turbocharged engine. Meanwhile, the V6 engine comes standard with all-wheel drive.

2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Features & Design

The list of the Grand Cherokee’s standard and available features could go on forever! The lineup starts with the Laredo trim that offers lane-keep assist, blindspot monitoring, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated side mirrors, a backup camera, a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and more. The mid-level Limited, Overland, High Altitude, and Summit add features like an 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 19-speaker Harman-Kardon audio system, heated/ventilated front seats, Nappa leather upholstery, 19 or 20-inch alloy wheels, a single or dual-pane panoramic moonroof, remote start, and much more. The Trailhawk takes drivers off the beaten path with standard full-time 4×4, Selec-Terrain traction management, Quadra-Lift air suspension, an electronic locking rear differential, all-terrain tires, red tow hooks, skid plates, and more. The high-performance Trackhawk offers standard four-wheel drive, a supercharged engine, air suspension, launch control, paddle shifters, sport seats, and much more.

2021 Chevrolet Blazer Features & Design

The Blazer lineup starts strong with the L trim. The Blazer L offers cloth upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, and 18-inch alloy wheels. A backup camera is the only driver assist that the Blazer offers, while driver aids like lane-keep assist are available on higher trim levels. Mid-level trims like the LT, 2LT, and 3LT include 20-inch alloy wheels, heated side mirrors, a power sunroof, remote start, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, and leather upholstery. In addition to a V6 engine, the RS gets 20-inch alloy wheels, an 8-inch driver information display, and navigation. The top-level Premier trim offers heated/ventilated front seats, 8-speaker Bose audio, a heated steering wheel, driver’s side memory settings, and ambient interior lighting.

While the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Chevy Blazer have some great features to offer, the Blazer simply can’t keep up with the sheer power and extensive list of standard and available features that the Grand Cherokee offers.
