The first kicks out 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque. The 400-hp high-output version, which is only available on the 3500, makes an incredible 1075 lb-ft of torque.

Smart Towing Technology

Depending on the truck model and trim, an impressive array of towing technology options is available for the Ram 1500, 2500HD, and 3500HD series of trucks. This may include technologies such as:

Trailer Reverse Steering Control – The available Trailer Reverse Steering Control (TRSC) couples with the 360° Surround-View Camera System and simplifies the trailer reversing process by allowing you to use the Trailer Steering knob to control your trailer’s direction as you back up while the system controls the truck’s steering wheel.

Air Suspension System – The available air suspension systems level the body of the truck during use and are height adjustable to make hitching up gooseneck, fifth wheel, and conventional trailers easy.

Forward Collision Warning System – This system has sensors on the front of the truck or van that sense when a vehicle in front of you slows down and alerts you with both visual and audio warnings. The brakes will also kick in, helping your vehicle stop.

Cargo View and Back-up Cameras – Both available cargo view and back up cameras display views on the central infotainment display to assist with properly lining up your hitch and trailer.

Trailer Tow Mirrors with Spotter Lamps – Blind spots have met their match. Available Trailer Tow Mirrors with Spotter Lamps are mounted on arms that can be folded out, giving you a wide and clear view when towing a trailer.

Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path and Trailer Detection – This system scans the blind spot zones beside and behind the vehicle to help ensure trailer safety while maneuvering, while automatically sensing and accounting for the length of the trailer.

Additional Control Systems – Stay in control with available Electronic Stability, Trailer Sway Control, Electronic Roll Mitigation, and Adaptive Cruise Control. Plus, stay aware of your trailer’s status with available Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring.
